Coach Clement, a graduate of the University of British Columbia, is passionate about teaching chess to youth with digital learning strategies. He has experience teaching chess in private schools in Vancouver, as well as school board-run programs.   Each chess class has three main components: theory, practice and games.

• Theory: basic chess theories are illustrated and discussed on a demo board.
• Practice: participants play against each other over the board. The instructor provides comments and guidance.
• Games: beginner students complete quests on ChessKid Adventure. Advanced students play puzzle duel and rapid games against other children online.
